INFUSION… EIGHT MILLION POUNDS WORTH OF SHEER STEEL PLEASURE
INFUSION…
The Worlds First Suspended Looping Coaster Completely Over Water!
The welding crews have finished. The planners have rolled up their maps. Now the engineers are working around the clock, the attendants watching the weather, the designers gazing at the full reality of their extraordinary creation in baffled astonishment. One million, four hundred and fifty-three pounds of strengthened steel, 96 steel columns, and 8 tons of nuts and bolts stand gleaming on the world’s most famous promenade.
These are the birth pangs of INFUSION, the planet’s first suspended looping coaster running entirely over water. A roller coaster for the 21st century with five incredible loops and rolls, 2,200 feet of twisting steel track, and a top speed of well over 50 miles per hour.
The ride itself, nearly two-and-a-half-minutes in duration, will be a delicious cocktail of sensation, stretching the emotions, tugging at the heartstrings and battering the senses into submission. INFUSION is a new and spectacular addition to Blackpool’s legendary Pleasure Beach, preparing to captivate the public with white-knuckle delight.
“I know white knuckle fans will love INFUSION” says Amanda Thompson, M.D. of Pleasure Beach, which her great grandfather William Bean began in 1896. “At a cost of eight million pounds it’s going to attract as many as SIX MILLION visitors a year. They come to have endless fun and to be thrilled by our unique blend of cutting-edge technology and traditional rides.”
INFUSION - described as “an exhilarating infusion of the elements”- soars to an amazing 120 feet in the air, and plummets through no fewer than 4Gs (four times the Earth’s normal gravity) on its journey. Two trains will operate on the ride, each holding a maximum of 16 people, while the lake beneath the attraction will need 4.4 MILLION litres of water to fill it.
Rollercoaster’s are a long-term tradition at Pleasure Beach, with the first wooden coaster - The Big Dipper - opening in 1921, quickly followed by three more before the Second World War, and six more since. The most recent until now was the Pepsi Max Big One opened in 1994 which was the tallest, fastest rollercoaster in the world at the time.
INFUSION draws upon a unique mix of water, air, speed and grace to create the most memorable roller coaster ride of your life, and a sure fire winner among Blackpool’s wealth of fantastic entertainment choices.
Amanda Thompson sees the investment in Blackpool’s future as the most natural thing for her family and her.
“With all the regeneration that has already taken place, Blackpool is moving forwards. I hope to see more investors following in Pleasure Beach’s footsteps and investing in this wonderful town.”
