Elevating an artform and establishing an industry leader

SENBLA

SENBLA has gained a national reputation in the UK as the foremost producer of film screenings with a live soundtrack. When SENBLA secured the international rights to screen Todd Phillips’ Joker with a live orchestra, Borkowski was issued the challenge of making this event the most popular in the genre’s history, using the film’s profile - and that of its composer Hildur Guðnadóttir - to elevate and increase respect for live-scored cinema as an artform, and enhance SENBLA’s corporate profile as the company prepared to expand its output and expand into international markets.

Exploiting the award-season buzz around Joker and Hildur, and targeting national and regional arts and going out editors, and film, music and comic trade press, the launch announcement for Joker – Live in Concert gained almost 350 pieces of coverage including national and international press.

The tour was postponed due to COVID-19 so the job is now to engage audiences with the concerts post-COVID and establish SENBLA as a well-equipped producer able to provide a model for the ‘new normal’.
